When you are writing an article for your blog, and you go to preview it, what do you look for? I bet it’s how long it is. Although an article with multiple paragraph looks good, it’s not what the readers will be looking at.

“Oh, that article is really short, I think I’m just going to skip it.”

They look at the content. They READ the content.

“An article about how I can increase my Pagerank? I need to read this!”

It’s no competition between word count and content. It’s always going to be quality over quantity with blogging. If you can produce a large quantity of good quality articles, than that’s of course better.

Don’t worry about how long the article is as long as your article:

1) Makes it’s point

2) Is clear and understandable

3) Goes as in depth as it needs to be/you want it to be

Remember this- people are going to have to read your article. Would you want to read a length, fluffy, article? It’s important to cover exactly what you want to cover, and exactly what’s needed to cover. Your readers want information, now. If you’re reviewing a site, cover all the aspects, pros, and cons, briefly but thoroughly. If you’re teaching someone how to do something- you better cover it step by step!

See how short this article is, but it still covers and explains my point, right? Please don’t worry about word count. For the reader’s sake!

I don’t usually ramble off-topic a lot, but whenever I do I’ll call it  “Misc News”.

Technorati Kinda Loves Me

Or at least people that find News Notion interesting do. I don’t often check on my Technoarti ranking, but it seems I have broken the 100,000 Technoarti shell. I am currently ranked 82,932! Let’s see if I can break 50,000 by the end of December. Help me out!

Where’s the new CashQuests owner?

It seems that after CashQuests was sold for $15,000 last week, the site has just dropped dead! Maybe the old and new owners are having communication problems, or someone is just too lazy to put new content up! Whatever is, I hope it’s fixed soon. Even more, I hope the new owner can fill the huge shoes left behind! I’m not even sure CashQuests will ever be the same without “Kumiko”’s distinct writing personality and attitude.

First Consulting Session Experience

A day after I announced a new consulting service I was offering, Zack Kollegger contacted me and we arranged for a session later that day. It went a lot smoother than I thought. Not only was I able to give Zach some key tips to improving his tech blog, but I showed him how to make real money online. I showed him a popular forum where he could make money by selling links on his wordpress themes, and he had never heard of such a thing!

RIP Sean Taylor

If you don’t pay attention to football, or don’t watch the news, than just to fill you in- Sean Taylor, Washington Redskins player, died this morning after a shooting the previous day. Sean was an amazing athlete, and his friends say he became a better person after his daughter was born just over a year ago. He was only 24. I’m personally upset because I am a die hard Redskins fan, and was especially fond of Sean Taylor.
