My first experience with AuctionAds/ShoppingAds came to an abrupt halt after noticing rather inappropriate images of half naked ladies used to capture attention for “make money online” products. Months later I decided to do a little test with ShoppingAds once more just to see if my luck would be better the second time.
I ran the campaign from January 12 – February 19. So, a little over a month. My results?
I know right? Try not be be jealous or overwhelmed by how much money I made with ShoppingAds. I got plenty of impressions, and clicks to go with it. But, since it is on a CPA basis, it’s hard to convert it into earnings. This means your visitors have to click on the ad- and buy the product being advertised.
In addition to earning nothing with ShoppingAds, pictures of partially clothed women continued to show up as ads. This is what made me stop at first. Sure, guys are attracted to this image and will most likely click on it, this doesn’t mean it’s appropriate to have on your professional site or blog. Plus, it most likely won’t lead to a conversion either.
ShoppingAds would probably do well on a website or blog targeted to a niche product or a specific product. Or even a technology/gadget blog. If you don’t like ShoppingAds, there are other product ad programs out there like WidgetBucks and TTZ Media.
