One of the most important things in life, and specifically making money, is the trait of commitment. Let’s see if you have enough commitment to keep going.
Blogging is one of the hardest online activities to succeed in. You have to be persistent.
Blogging involves:
A) Attracting the readers
B) Getting them to come back
and then C) Turning visitors into income
You have to feed the readers with new content almost everyday if you want them to come back for more. A regular website is easier to maintain because you can get away with not updating it every day.
Most people give up on blogging after just one month. And many more after three months. This is because they expected to make money easily, and that is certainly not the case.
Here are 7 ways showing that you are die hard committed to your blog:
If you’ve passed the six months mark- chances are you are still going to be at it for a while now. You’ve experienced the low income, the research, and the daily writing, commenting, and reading other blogs. You know what there is to it and now just trying to keep improving your income and reader levels.
If you know there isn’t immediate income- you’ve done your homework. Blogging takes lots of hard work before you start making money.
If you update your blog daily- you’ve definitely got it. Readers come back to see new content. Make your readers addicted and get them to come back each day.
If you spend more time commenting and reading other blogs in your niche- then you check on your own blog, you are doing it right. Sitting and waiting for your blog to make money won’t do anything. Commenting other blogs can bring in traffic, and reading other blogs will definitely teach you something!
If you check your blog while on vacation- you are addicted! You can’t stand being away from your loved one for more than a full day. You have to see what’s going on! But, you play it smart and can still relax because you have found guest bloggers to sub in for you.
If you run contests on your blog- you are showing that you want to stick around and help improve your blog. You’re investing money to try to get it back and more.
If you pass the one year hump- you don’t have to worry anymore. By now you should be making decent money off your blog, and there are no surprises in your path now. Congratulations, because the commitment issues are probably over now.

Great post! I’ve got almost all those things. The toughest thing for me so far has really been just updating every day. It’s tough sometimes, but I really do need to get on with the regular updates.
Updating your blog with new content is probably THE hardest thing to stay committed. But once people comment on your posts, contact you with questions and compliments, it truly is rewarding! It will help improve your commitment.
Hey John, I like your site. Nice design and looks like good info and all of that! So hey, I just recently changed my theme and it came with a calendar. On the calendar, it displays the dates you have and haven’t posted differently. That way it’s pretty obvious when you slack off. Needless to say, I haven’t missed a day all month. (#):)
