Going Big? Get a domain. Part 2

Picking the right domain name.

Experiencing a domain name block? Can’t think of the perfect blog name? Here are some suggestions on how you can find the name that’s right for you.

Look for synonyms

Found a good word or phrase to use but the name is taken? Use www.thesaurus.reference.com. You’ll end up digging through until you find another phrase you like with a similar meaning!

Think of your personality

Depending on what niche you have selected for your blog, using a word or phrase that describes you may be the best thing for your blog. Think original. Thesaurus.com is your friend!

First & Last name

Brand your blog with your name! Not everyone can pull this off though. You have to be special to brand your blog. I can’t tell you how, but JohnSmith.com or XavierShishcaboboly.net just isn’t going to work. If your last name isn’t common (but easy to spell), use just your last name instead!

Simple & Original

The thesaurus is your friend. You want to dig to find words that are easy to spell, but not commonly known. This will grab the readers attention first!

Use Tools

Problogger beat me to this one yet again! He wrote a post about a new tool to find domain names here.

Here are three websites to use to help you find a domain name:

Bust a Name

Domains Bot

Name Boy
