Sorry for the lack of posting lately, like yesterday. I’m suffering from the evil writer’s block, so have been trying to write another post but I just couldn’t get my mind set straight. I think I might be past it now, but this past week was really hard to keep up with on my blog! It’s really a terrible feeling.
I’ve decided to contribute this post to how to get rid of writer’s block. Here are some ways I used and found myself wanting to write today’s post.
1. Think of a new post topic
Most of the time, a post topic will just pop into your head and if you’re smart, you’ll sit down and write about it immediately while the idea is fresh. If the post for that day has already been posted, or you have another post planned, then you can keep it for another day. But, if you have writers block than getting a new post out is what you are striving to do. So maybe having a really good post idea will be enough to get out of the block.
2. Look at how much money you’ve made.
Most of us are trying to make money from blogging. And surely enough, seeing how much money you’ve made from blogging so far could be the best motivation. Earning some money will make you wanting to make more. Hopefully, you’ll find yourself writing a new blog post ten minutes later.
3. Read your idol blogs, a lot.
What blogs serve as your role model? For me, JohnChow.com, Problogger, and Cash Quests are my top idols. A lot of popular and great blogs post more than once a day. I found myself checking up on all of the blogs I read more often. They can serve as really great motivation. Who doesn’t want to be as successful as they are? Don’t worry, you don’t get reader’s block alongside writer’s block, don’t worry.
4. Take the day off from your blog.
Sometimes all you need to get over writer’s block is to not think about writing. Instead, submit a post that you have already written for emergencies (you should always have a couple stored) and do something away from the computer. Go outside, play your favorite video game, or something you enjoy doing. Come back tomorrow with a fresh mind and I bet you’ll want to write new content.
Writer’s block is not very fun, but you’ll get over it. It happens to everyone. These things helped my override the block, so I’m speaking from experience.
Have you ever been through writer’s block? What did you do to get over it?

It’s hard for me to deal with writer’s block because I hate to take a day off though sometimes I think I probably should.
It is really hard, but it is definitely needed. As a reader, I would rather have the blogger miss one day of posting than having them continuously post poor content.
In that case, I apologize for my recent Elvis post. (#):(
Hehe.
Hi,
This is a good post. This is the stuff I was actually looking for.
I have a question though – Frequent number of times I have got a warning as “spam” when I try bookmarking on sites like dig.com or muti.com.
I don’t have any spam pages or websites.
Any idea why do I meet with all these?
Thanks.
I ALWAYS think of the best stuff to write about when I’m driving and the moment I sit at my computer, it’s all gone. *sigh*
I suggest you stick a pad of paper and pen in your car, and if you come up with an idea, at the next red light scribble it down.
I’m not really a social bookmarking expert. If I had to guess though, I would say that it’s because your article was pointless, poorly written, or just written to advertise your blog.
Also, I see you tried to submit three similar comments. Sorry if that confused you why they weren’t working, your first comment has to be moderated before you can start commenting. Welcome to News Notion!
Great post! Very easy to understand and a terrific read.
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
‘Poor’ is my trademark though! :p
Hi Casey
Just so you know, I think this message from tompaine5454@yahoo.com is spam. I received the same comment (word for word) from 5 different email addresses yesterday. Bizarre.
“Earning some money will make you wanting to make more.”
Thats what I liked in the post. Its very true and very essense of the drive for each human to excel generally!!!

When I’m stuck, I like to browse YouTube. Even if I don’t get any ideas, at least I’ve been entertained! :p
Yeah, that’s a good idea. The important thing is to just get your mind of writing for a bit.
I found that when I am short on sleep, I have the hardest time writing. When you take the day off the blog, take a nap. You may end up posting that day anyway.
Great post Casey! Thanks for visiting my blog! You have a great blog suscribed
Thanks! Glad you liked it! I hope it helps!

The competition in blogging is getting more and more hard nowadays. Almost everybody wants a piece of another person’s time, they want to squeeze their pages into one’s head. Your tips are truly helpful, like the first one to put a new topic. Readers are easily bored, so bloggers should always offer something out of the box.
