PayPerPost

I’ve been with PayPerPost for some time now. I have only managed to complete one opportunity, but I’ve explored payperpost enough to be able to share my experience with the program.

PayPerPost is one of the oldest and most successful “Paid to Blog” programs out there. It’s huge! There are tons of opportunities to take, and plenty of money to make. But is PayPerPost right for you? You’ll find out at the end of this review.

Requirements

It’s pretty easy to join PayPerPost. You should start off by owning an appropriate English speaking blog. You also have to have at least 20 posts and the blog needs to be at least 90 days old. If it’s older than 90 days you better have more than 20 posts anyways! The age of your blog is determined by the date of the first post of your blog. Oh, and here’s the most important requirement of all: Your blog has to have original content! If your blog doesn’t meet these requirements for PayPerPost, than it’s hardly a blog at all.

There are NO requirements to meet for Alexa, Technorati, FeedBurner, or Google Pagerank. Though this sheds light on newer blogs like mine to make some money, you’ll see the flaw soon.

Referral Program

PayPerPost’s referral program pays great! For every person that signs up for PayPerPost and is accepted, you get $15. For each person that does the “Review My Post” program, you get $7.50, and they get $7.50. Seems like easy income right?

Not exactly. It seems to take a REALLY long time for the referrals to get accepted. I have three referrals, a total of $37.50, pending since late June/early July! That’s a long time. Who knows if I’ll ever get credited. The blogger has to have had their first opportunity post reviewed, approved, and then finally accepted 30 days later. That’s a long wait and lengthy process!

Payout

The payout system could not be better! There is no minimum payout to reach. They also pay with Paypal! Amazing! I received $5, no fees taken, to my paypal account last month. That’s because I only did one opportunity. The only thing I don’t like is they don’t pay until the end of the month, so if you’re money hungry then this will make you antsy!

The Downside to PayPerPost for New Bloggers

Here’s the flaw to PayPerPost. If you are a new blogger, and you have no pagerank, you’re basically screwed until you get some Google love. I’ve found maybe three opportunities that I’ve qualified for over the past few months that fit into this blog. The truth is, there aren’t many opportunities at all, if you don’t have any pagerank. It’s important to try and incorporate a sponsored post into your blog, even if it’s a stretch, and with the available opportunities it’s rare to find a perfect opportunity. I mean, unless you want me to talk about math tutors, or cheap hotels.

I guess it makes sense though, doesn’t it? You can’t blame PayPerPost if they don’t have a lot of opportunities for blogs with no pagerank. If you were an advertiser, wouldn’t you rather pay a bit more money to get an advertisement on a blog with a pagerank of 4?

Is PayPerPost Right for Me?

Let me help you answer this question. If you have no pagerank, you’ll have trouble finding good opportunities for your blog, depending on your niche and whether you’d rather find opportunities that fit than just randomly talking about cheap batteries or wall clocks. You’d be better off handling reviews directly. You can try PayPerPost Direct, or make your own pretty badge with a price tag and let the advertisers talk to you directly (I think I’m going to try the latter).

If you DO have some pagerank, PayPerPost is definitely worth trying out. There’s probably a whole new world of opportunities for you guys.
