I’m assuming you are here because you’ve created a blog and you are looking for ways to promote it. You want people to read it, you want people to visit it, you want to make money with it.

You’ve probably figured out by now, simply writing and posting doesn’t really work. It might bring you a few visitors, but no cruise ships are stopping in your ports.

This may sound like a no brainer, but haven’t you noticed how many badly written blogs are out there? People seem to forget that they are writing for real people not search engines.
Newspapers are written for people, look at the way the news is written and follow the same sort of copywriting guidelines. Make headlines and the lead interesting to your readers. Make the body informative.
Keep it alive and interesting.
If you write posts that people enjoy reading, they will reward you by returning to your blog regularly

“Write content that people want to read.” – I think this is the only rule which is obliged to comply with any blogger.
I agree with you that in making a blog, you have to really put your heart into it. There has to be dedication and not just write whatever pops into your head. I like your suggestion that you should write something that people would want to read. I love reading blogs, but once I don’t like the first paragraph, I quit reading.

I totally agree with you guys. If a blogger doesn’t have enough respect for their readers to put some love and time into the first paragraph, I don’t see any reason to put my love and time into reading it. Making money on the internet may have a lot of complex algorhythms attached to it, but as far as I’m concerned, there still has to be this basic agreement between the writer and the reader or else it is all pointless.
