About three weeks ago, TNX.net sprung out of nowhere and turned into a blogrush-like craze throughout the blogosphere. I’ve tested with TNX since it opened, and want to share exactly what I think of TNX.
What is TNX?
TNX.net is very similar to Text Link Ads. You can buy links on other websites, or sell links on yours. The price of the link depends on your site stats, mostly on your Pageranking.
The purpose of buying text links is to get more incoming link juice, therefore making your site seem more important, according to Google. Buying text links is a easy, but costly way to increase your site’s Pagerank. But, seeing as the update has been overdue for months, and Google is punishing site’s with paid links, I’m surprised people are still in the text link business!

TNX versus TLA
- TNX links are not sitewide. Instead, you can sell links on each individual page.
- TNX does not discriminate against Pagerank 0 sites! You won’t get as much money, but you’ll still be accepted into the program and make some money with your site.
- TNX uses TNX points instead of money. You can then sell your TNX points to the system, a buyer, or buy advertising.
TNX Points
TNX Points are used as the currency at TNX.net. You use points to buy links and you earn points instead of money for selling links. No worries. You can sell your points for money! You can either sell your points back to TNX for a flat rate per 1000 points or if you manage to find an advertiser willing to pay more than that, you can hook up with them. See, it costs twice that to buy TNX points from TNX than you earn from selling them. It’s a mini-economy. Surely, advertisers will want to pay cheaper by finding a person selling points, and that person is probably looking to get more for their 1000 points than the TNX system offers.
How Much Money I Made With TNX
You’re probably curious as to how much money, or points, I’ve earned with TNX. Well, I can tell you I’ve made more in three weeks with TNX than I have EVER with Text Link Ads. I actually have been rejected by TLA, probably because of my pagerank 0. Fortunately, TNX thinks differently of my site. I was accepted.
My stats:
PR: 0
# of pages: Just over 200
# of links allowed per page: 1
Total Points Earned: 1,650.40
That comes out to be, at the current rate for selling points to the system: $1.06! Okay, it’s nothing to sneeze at, but it’s nothing to really cry about either. Maybe just a tear or two. Hey, at least I’ve made money off of it and I can sell it for more to an advertiser if I manage to find one.
Conclusion about TNX
- It’s better than TLA, depending on what you’re looking for. As a publisher, the more pages you have, the more money you can make per link. And, you can have up to four links per page!
- A good alternative to TLA for those you don’t have any Pagerank love on their site.
- The points system may seem a bit confusing and seems like it takes away from the idea of TNX, but it’s not too hard to work with.
- TNX may not have have been a gold mine for me, but can definitely be a money maker for some.
- The higher your pagerank, the more money you will make with your site!

Do you think this is safe to use considering the current pagerank issues?
Talking about PageRank…I think you can relax, Casey. My Google Toolbar shows your homepage as a PR 3.
Indeed it is.
You just have to decide which you care about more.
You can actually have up to 4 links, not just 2!
When incresing the number of links, there is only one option available – increase number of links to 2. Once you click that option, you will have an option to increase the number of link to 3 … and so on … u pto 4 links.
Oops! Sorry about that! Thanks for the heads up, I’ll fix that tonight after school.
